The Social Security Administration now charges $27-$29 for copies of SS-5 forms (previously $7). SS-5 Forms can contain a wealth of information of your ancestor when they filled out their application for a social security card. These applications begin in 1936 when the program was started. They can contain addresses, relatives' names, employers' names, age, place of birth, and much more.
